Monthly Life List: October 2014

The following is a life list that is meant to be fun, free and something that you can do locally. The only guideline is you should aim to finish as many items as possible by the deadline (see below!).

  • Have a solo dance party (then share it!)
  • Eat your absolute favorite meal
  • Support a farmers market
  • Pick and eat something from nature
  • Ride a bike
  • Visit a Russian, German or Turkish bathhouse
  • Attend a play or other live theatre production
  • Have your palm read
  • Write your will
  • Choose your favorite author

The Deadline

No Life List would be complete without a deadline. This monthly life list’s deadline is:

October 31st 2014

“A” favorite author? I read too much to choose just one! (Which only means I’ll just have to work from the rest of the list …)

This gave me a couple of reading ideas you could use on future lists: read a book that you keep meaning to read but somehow never do; read something originally written in another language (maybe but not necessarily related to where you’re currently traveling).

    • Love it Kate! Adding that to my ideas for future lists. Cheers and thank you! :-)

My wife and I are going to San Francisco – we are creating a mini life list i.e. walk across the Golden Gate Bridge, dim sum in China Town, ride a trolly – time lapse walking down lombard street… Fun stuff ya know. Thanks for the inspiration.

    • Awesome! Have a great time. Take some photos! :-)

  • Love these lists because they’re bite sized! Keep em coming! (And I like Kate’s ideas too :) )

  • I can’t think of a favourite meal! I mean… I LOVE food, and I think I love it too much to have just one favourite. And really, when I think about it, I eat something I love almost every day.

Fav author… Bill Bryson I guess. Or Jane Austen. Or JK Rowling…
Sigh… I’m so indecisive! But I’ve read all of their books at least a dozen times.

I visited a farmer’s market in Prague (just got back home a couple of days ago) and it was fabulous!

I went to a Turkish bathhouse last month, it’s too expensive to go again, so I’m gonna let this one be.

Which part of the world are you in now?

    • > And really, when I think about it, I eat something I love almost every day.

      Wow, nice! :-)

Excellent work making progress on this month’s list. You have quite the momentum going (and you have for some time). Congrats :-) You are past the hardest part and it sounds like you are already enjoying some the “prizes”.

      Cheers!

  • From the last list… I fixed something that was broken and drew a picture. The cloud watching is a given. :) Plus, I got back into hula hooping. I hadn’t been able to do it while pregnant, but I picked my hoops up again.

For this list… My favorite author is Gabriel Garcia Marquez.

For the palm reading, I hope it’s ok for me to modify the item a bit. A while back, I wrote but never finished a short story that included a character who read palms. I started researching how-to and now I think I will go back and complete it.

    • Amazing work Leigh :-) I am especially happy to hear you made hula hooping a part of your life again. :-)

Let me know if you publish your short story!
