Howdy folks! I am sitting in the United terminal at LAX again in route to a somewhere I have never been. Bring it on Portland, Maine! Now, don’t be too quick to judge. Just because this Portland is “the other Portland” doesn’t mean it is any lesser (although it probably is). To be fair, this Portland came first.
So why I am heading off to Ameri-anda? Simple, I am working on my bucket list item of taking a photo in all 50 states. Thus the reason for my New England visit. So with less than a week left in the United States, I am leaving from where America got started.
Danny you seem like you are in an annoyingly chipper mood, what’s up?
Yes I am self manifesting writing device! There is something I am very excited for in New England. Deep in the heart of Vermont, wedged between a confused Canadian and some Maple syrup is something amazing. Little kids look forward to Disney Land, old people look forward to whining a lot in Florida and I look forward, neh!, dream of the joy that is the Ben and Jerry’s factory! This is the best kind of thrill, an ice cream adventure.
O.M.G.
You see blog stalker, I really like ice cream. I once went on a 500 day stride where I ate ice cream every single day. Every single day Danny? Are you sure you are not fibbing?
Cue montage
Wait, did you systematically take a photo of yourself eating ice cream in various places around the world? That is really weird… IGNORE THAT. I just really like ice cream.
So that dear reader is why I am so excited. In addition to visiting Massachusetts,
New Hampshire, Vermont, Maine, Connecticut, New Jersey, seeing some amazing friends from Argentina, giving a lecture at Yale and moving out of the country in 6 days, I am going to the happiest/chubbiest place on earth.
Preemptive Yum.

Haha wish I could get away with that! I’d have too spend too much time in the gym for an awesome diet like that lol
Yeah, I had to add more gym dates while I was doing this. Worked out fine though as the rest of my diet was balanced.
i like this post. i think that’s because you’re an enabler. and now i WILL eat pizza every day for the rest of the year and i WONT feel bad about it. err, maybe i still should. anyways, good on ya.
Whatever I can do to help… ;-p
Ah! You’re coming to my neck of the woods! Yes- Ben and Jerry’s is a must! Never been a Maine-ard myself, but if you come down to Boston make sure to eat a bowl of Clam Chowda. It really is the best in Faneuil Hall!
Awesome, thanks for the tip! Food tips are the best.
Enjoy Vermont! I’m like 25 minutes from the border, always have a great time when I go there. BTW That’s a hell of a lot of ice cream.
